My Dream Room!!!

So I have a favorite blog that I look at everyday! This is the blog where I get ideas, recipes, and my adorable fonts that you see all over my page! This blog is called Kevin and Amanda where Amanda is the most creative person ever. She is what I strive to be at someday and the thing I love the most is her scrapbook/sewing/craft room! I am so jealous and hope someday (when all my kids have grown and moved out :/ ) I can have a room like this:

Hello!!! I could sleep in there! I think just standing in there would make anyone feel like sitting down and doing a craft or a scrapbook! I am so jealous but now know why Amanda is so crafty!!! So maybe someday (30 years from now) I will be posting a picture of my craft room just like this one...hey a girl can dream! Enjoy!

Modge-Podge Monogram Letter

Hello Friday! I know I don't work but doesn't it feel wonderful when Friday arrives! You start to count down the hours to Saturday so you can do projects or have family time or absolutely nothing because that is the beauty of weekends! Today's craft is going to be a simple monogrammed letter that you can put anywhere in your house. You can even use more than one and do a big one for your last name and two slightly smaller ones for yours and your husbands first name which would be adorable. Come to think of it I think I'm going to go to Joanns and get those tomorrow!

Anyway, today I am going to teach you how to take a wooden letter like this:

And turn it into this:

Supplies:
-wooden letter
-paint
-scrapbook paper
-glue and water mixture (a.k.a. homemade modge podge)
-old paint brush
-ribbon
-scissors
-any other embelishments you want to add

Take your letter and place in face down on the back side of your scrapbook paper. Trace and cut-out:

Paint the edges of the letter in a coordinating color. I used Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint in Pool Blue:

Let Dry:

Once completely dry, start applying glue mixture to front of letter and back of paper:

Now unfortunately since I did this at 11 p.m. I was a little tired and forgot to take pictures of the rest.

Once you have applied the glue, carefully place the paper on the wood and line it up as straight as you can. There will be a slight over-hang on the sides to add glue and press down sides. You will have to do this many times until the glue has a firm hold and the paper on the sides does not pop up. Once the letter is straight add a coat of glue directly on top of the paper to seal. While glue is wet add the ribbon to your project so it will stick better. Do not put glue on top of the ribbon because it will not dry nice. Once the letter is completely dry you can add any other elements with a hot glue gun.

Now you have a beautiful, easy to make monogrammed letter to decorate your house!

Total cost of this project: 7.50! Enjoy!
