Star Wreath Christmas Card Hanger

Hello again! So I saw this adorable star wreath Christmas Card holder on Domestically Speaking and thought it would be a great addition to our new house! So I headed on over to Hobby Lobby, which by the way was just opened 20 minutes away! I was so excited to hear about it's opening since I would read about it all the time and was so frustrated that there were no stores in California, but not anymore! So I headed to Hobby Lobby where all their Christmas Decor was 50% off so I purchased flower wire, garland, and berries for $15! I love how it turned out! This is my version on the wreath and make sure you check out Maryann's version!

And also check out our 8 foot Christmas tree! I love how it looks in our how and how it smells! My tree skirt looks tiny now so I might have to make a new one!!!

Rag-Tie Snuggle Blanket

Happy Wednesday! I hope you all enjoyed my blog swap yesterday and if you did not get a chance to see my tutorial here it is:

Today I will show you how to make an adorable Rag Tie Snuggle Blanket for your kids! Instead of doing a traditional blanket, I decided to make one similar to the one I made my daughter while my husband was deployed. I bought iron on sheets and printed pictures of him. She got quite a bit of use out of it and still sleeps with it every night:

For this blanket I printed pictures of our entire family (35 people) and ironed them onto the cotton fabric.

Supplies:

-1/2 yard snuggle flannel (can adjust size depending on blanket size)

-1/2 yard cotton/polyester blend coordinating fabric (the blend makes it easier to tie)

-4 x 6 iron on transfers (as many as you would like)

-craft scissors

Print out your pictures onto the iron-on transfer paper using your home computer. (You can print plain pictures or use photoshop like I did to add names, graphics, etc.)

Peel the protective backing off the transfers and iron onto the cotton blend fabric with the directions from the package.

Once all your pictures have been ironed, place the two peices of fabric together. Cut out a 4 x 4 inch square on all four corners. This is done easily if you make a cardstock template ahead of time which can be used for your next blanket.

On all four sides, cut 4 inch long by 1 inch wide strips along the border. Make sure you cut through both pieces of fabric.

Tie the two pieces together into a double knot. (This ensures that the blaket will stay together if you need to throw it in the washing machine from time to time). Repeat this step along all four sides of the blanket.

Now you have an adorable rag tie snuggle blanket that was easy to make and will be a long-lasting keepsake for someone you love!

Happy Saturday! Now that the baby shower is only an hour away I wanted to share with you what I am giving the mommy and daddy to be! (Just in case she reads my blog lol) Here is the complete present:

Baby Shower Gift Idea #1

Happy Thursday! I hope you all are getting excited for the weekend. I know I am! Not only because my hubby will be home but also because we are going to a couples baby shower! I am so excited to have my hubby go with me (esp since I don't know the mom-to-be that well) but it will be so much fun. I am also excited because of all the gifts I am making them! The next few days I will show off what I have made. I wanted to show you the first one real quick before I go fight with my daughter about taking a nap lol.

These were so easy to make that I made 2 in 5 minutes and they cost me less than a dollar each. I cannot wait to make more for the muchkin! I followed Michelle's tutorial @Land of the Misfit Toys. She gives you pictures for each step so it is so easy to do! I hope you like them! Enjoy!
